About

We started with a mat that didn't work.

Whiskerwell is a small Canadian brand making a short list of things for indoor cats. Not a catalogue, not a superstore. One product at a time, made properly, sold to people who actually live with a cat.

The first mat we tried was a carpet square. It caught some litter and then held on to the smell of it. The second was too thin to stay flat, so it crept across the floor every time a cat pushed off it. What we wanted was simple: something litter falls through, that doesn't absorb anything, and that you can rinse in a sink.

That's the mat we sell now. Two layers of EVA foam, a honeycomb top and a solid base. Nothing about it is clever. It works the way a mat should, and then it gets out of the way.

We ship it free anywhere in Canada, and we take it back within 30 days if your cat disagrees with us.

How we think about it

Made to be boring

No app, no batteries, no subscription. You put it down and it does its job for years.

Things that hold up

EVA doesn't absorb, doesn't fray and doesn't need replacing every spring. That's the whole material argument.

Straight answers

If the mat won't suit your setup, we'd rather say so before you buy it than after. Ask us anything.

One product, two ways to buy it

One mat is $34.99. Two are $54.99, which is what most people end up needing.
